What is Special Olympics Illinois?
Special Olympics Illinois provides year-round opportunities in competitive sports, health education, and leadership development for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
This programming includes 18 Olympic-type sports; and gives participating athletes the chance to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
Join Special Olympics Illinois as it shapes a culture where people with and without intellectual disabilities are fully integrated into our communities, building inclusion across the state.
